Probably the Reason I Wear Glasses
Going in to kindergarten, I already knew how to read; when I reflect on that now, I appreciate how awesome my parents were for teaching me that early. I remember once I got the hang of reading I read everything I saw, much like everyone when they first start reading. The first time my parents took me to the library, I was in awe; and to this day I am still amazed at this facility that has tons of books, and are all free to borrow.
For Christmas I got a gift certificate to Barnes & Noble, and also to Amazon.com, other than for school, this semester I am reading a ton and I love it. As of right now, mostly I have been reading ministry books, and also I have been doing more reading of scripture [other than what I have to do for class]. I just finished reading Jesus for President by Shane Claiborne and Chris Haw, and In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day by Mark Batterson; both are great reads. Jesus for President will challenge a lot of what you think and know. Tonite I’m going to start reading Death by Love by Mark Driscoll. Soon, I’ll try to get a list of books going on here that I’ll try to keep updated.
